Land Between the Lakes with Water Trail Project to get assistance from National Park Service

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – The National Park Service Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program selected 11 new communities and partnerships to receive technical and planning assistance to promote the development of new economic opportunities and natural resource conservation.

The National Park Service selected Land Between the Lakes Region Water Trail as one of these 11 projects for Fiscal Year 2017.

APSU Men's Golf - Austin Peay State UniversityDickson, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team saw its share of ups and downs through the first 36 holes of play at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, but the Governors also saw several young players step up to the challenge at Greystone Golf Club, Monday.

2016 Tyler Barrett Memorial Ride and Check Presentation

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Erik Ranallo coordinated the Tyler Barrett Memorial Ride this past Saturday, October 15th, 2016, at 2:30pm. The ride was organized to raise money for the Shop with a Cop Program.

Today, Erik Ranallo presented checks from the ride to the Clarksville Police Department’s Chief Al Ansley and Detective Dennis Honholt, the current Police Union President. They raised just over $3,600.00.

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – Local nature photographer David Magers specializes in birds. His work has been shown in various Clarksville venues, including the Downtown Artists Co-op, Silke’s Old World Breads, Planters Bank, L and N Train Station, the Clarksville Public Library, and others. David has recently published a photography book titled “The Birds of Dunbar Cave State Park,” containing recent photos of some 58 species, all taken on the park grounds.

AAA says Gas Prices Stabilize over the Weekend

 

AAATampa, FL – Pump prices in Georgia and Tennessee continue their descent, while Florida prices dipped on Sunday for the first time in two weeks. The Georgia average of $2.26 is 3 cents less than last week.

Tennessee’s state average of $2.12 is 2 cents less than a week ago. Florida’s state average of $2.25 is 4 cents more than last week.

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – LEAP Organization is preparing for its 7th Annual Step Show Competition at West Creek High School on October 22nd. This competition is an inspiring, upbeat, and fun dance competition designed to showcase the talented young people we have in the community.

This event was the brainchild of two sisters, Deanna and Valerie Armstrong, who were among the five initial LEAP participants in 2009. APSU Men's Tennis - Austin Peay State UniversityLouisville, KY – The Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team competed at the 2016 Louisville Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday hosted by Louisville.

In the D singles flight, James Mitchell reached the semifinals after opening play with a pair of wins – he was the only Gov to advance past their second match. Mitchell started with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Matthew Momper from Bellarmine.
