APSU Volleyball hosts Alabama A&M before wrapping up 2016 road slate

APSU Women's Volleyball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team will make a quick visit to the Dunn Center, Tuesday, before wrapping up the road portion of its 2016 schedule during Week 10 of the season.

First, the Governors host Alabama A&M in a 5:30pm, Tuesday contest.

OVC names APSU’s Kristen Stucker adidas® Setter of the Week

APSU Women's Volleyball - Austin Peay State UniversityBrentwood, TN – For the second consecutive week, Austin Peay State University volleyball’s sophomore setter Kristen Stucker has been named the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week.

Stucker, of Johnston, Iowa, averaged 10.08 assists per set in the Govs three matches while marshaling the squad to a .250 attack percentage during the week.

City of Clarksville announces Parking lot near Montgomery County Courts Complex closure changed to October 25th-26th

 

Heavily used surface lot will get sealcoat, restriping

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Hear ye! Hear ye! The surface parking lot on Second Street facing the Montgomery County Courts Complex will be closed for maintenance on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25th and 26th.

The parking garage adjacent to the lot, as well as the leased spaces in the garage, will be open as usual and will be accessible from the 1st floor entrance on Commerce Street.

City of Clarksville to hold public meeting about Northeast Connector tonight

 

Roadway is needed to relieve congestion in high-density section of Clarksville

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Tonight, Monday, October 24th, 2016 citizens interested in a project to ease traffic congestion in Northeast Clarksville are urged by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and the Clarksville Street Department to attend a public meeting at Northeast High School at 6:00pm.

The City of Clarksville will host the meeting to discuss the project and the environmental study under way for the proposed Northeast Connector and related improvements.

Clarksville Police releases Victims Names in Crash on 101st Airborne Division Parkway at the Intersection of Trenton Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN –  On October 23rd, 2016 early in the morning, Clarksville Police responded to a vehicle accident on 101st Airborne Division Parkway at the intersection of Trenton Road , where two people from Clarksville passed away from their injuries.

The driver was 18-year-old Samia T. Lucas, and the passenger was 18-year-old Joshua A. Guillen Lopez.

Ho Young Kang was initially charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, DUI, and failure to obey a traffic signal.

AAA reports Gas Prices decline as Crude Oil Prices Stabilizes

 

AAATampa, FL – The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded declined for the 15th consecutive day Sunday, for a total discount of 4 cents during that period. In the southeast, the rate of decline varies depending on the state.

Average prices in Georgia and Tennessee have spent the past month slowly recovering from the Colonial Pipeline outage that sent prices surging by an average of 28 and 17 cents respectively.

Campbell Crossing gives back to the Fort Campbell Stray Impound

 

Campbell CrossingFort Campbell, KY – Campbell Crossing, the housing community located on Fort Campbell, recently hosted a drive to gather items for the Fort Campbell Stray Impound.

They promoted the drive through their Facebook page and monthly newsletter, quickly seeing residents were eager to participate, bringing much needed items to their community offices.

Instant Peay Play: APSU Soccer’s Kirstin Robertson making case for OVC Player of the Year honors

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – With another game-winning goal on Sunday, October 23rd, versus Jacksonville State, in a 1-0 victory at Morgan Brothers Field, Austin Peay State University’s Kirstin Robertson continues to build a résumé this season that could lead to her becoming the second Governor to earn the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year honors.

Tatiana Ariza is currently the only Austin Peay player to earn the league’s top honor, that coming back during the 2012 season, but Robertson, a 5-4, junior forward/midfielder from Ashland City, TN, may join her after coming off a sophomore season that saw her limited to just 13 matches after suffering several injuries in 2015.
