City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Tennessee State championships are rare, and when two girls teams at one school bring home a pair of them in one year, it’s an even bigger feat.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan was on hand Monday for a student assembly to help celebrate the season of success at Clarksville High School, where both the girls soccer team and the girls golf team won state championships this fall.

“As the first woman to be elected mayor of Clarksville, it gives me great pleasure to celebrate two state championships with these young women,” Mayor McMillan said.

“The entire City of Clarksville joins in congratulating these fabulous athletes, whose skill and hard work have brought acclaim to our schools, and our city throughout the great State of Tennessee,” stated Mayor McMillan.

Mayor McMillan gave each member of the teams a mayor’s certificate and a commemorative coin to mark the championships.
