During her four seasons, Cooper and the Wildcats won one district and two region titles, capping the run by winning the 2016 TSSAA Class AAA state title; Cooper finished 12th overall, posting a final-round 76 and averaging even-par on both the par-3 and par-5 holes during the 36-hole event.

It was her second-straight top-20 finish in the state golf championships.

Off the course, she maintains a 4.0 grade-point average and a spot as student body vice president. She plans to major in communications at Austin Peay.

“We would always like to keep the Clarksville kids in Clarksville,” said head coach Sara Robson. “Junior golf is great in Clarksville because the Clarksville Junior Golf Program is unique and does a great job of teaching our kids the fundamentals and how to compete. It’s why we produce great golfers.

“We’re excited about Riley joining us and she’s excited to be a Governor; she’s going to bring some great assets to our program. Her work ethic and determination fits into our culture perfectly; she will use her many qualities to take her game to the next level and help our program reach our goals.”
