Fayetteville, AR – Despite a game-high 23 points from senior John Murry, Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team couldn’t keep pace with a high-octane Arkansas Razorback squad at Bud Walton Arena, Saturday.

The Vols (3-3) were efficient, shooting 52.8 percent from the floor and 54.5 percent (6-of-11) from 3-point range. UT also made 19 of 24 free throws and out-rebounded Georgia Tech (4-3), 37-31.
Tennessee limited Georgia Tech to just 32.7 percent shooting, marking the Vols’ best defensive effort of the season.

Clarksville, TN – Senior center Tearra Banks reached a prestigious milestone, Saturday, becoming the 19th player in the 1,000 point club as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team fell 85-65 against Western Kentucky in the Dunn Center.

Fort Campbell, KY – Out of nearly 50 teams, it came down to teams from 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and 716th Military Police Battalion for the final game of the Commander’s Cup Tournament held by Fort Campbell’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation program.
The tournament began in January and ended mid-November with a tie-breaker flag football game between the two teams from 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Sustainment Brigade “Lifeliners,” 101st Abn. Div.
Austin Peay State University to hold Military and Veteran Graduate Recognition Ceremony for APSU Fall Graduates, December 7th
Clarksville, TN – Active duty military and veteran students graduating from Austin Peay State University in December will be honored with an APSU military coin and a special cord to wear with their commencement regalia.
The military and veteran graduate recognition and coin presentation ceremony, with the theme “All Hail to Those Who Serve,” is scheduled for 5:00pm, Wednesday, December 7th in the Mabry Concert Hall, located inside the Music/Mass Communication Building on the University campus. The event is open to the public.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council lifetime Achievement Awards to be held Monday, December 5th
Clarksville, TN – Two Clarksvillians will be honored this Monday, December 5th, by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council for their achievement in art and in preserving our heritage.
Dr. James Diehr, professor emeritus of art at Austin Peay State University, will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Art award and Inga Filippo, APSU professor emerita of library science, will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Heritage award.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds 2017 coaching staff has been announced by the Oakland Athletics and is highlighted by new Manager, Ryan Christenson.
Christenson, 42, will manage at the Triple-A level for the first time after leading the Double-A Midland RockHounds to Texas League titles in 2015 and 2016.
The 2016 Texas League Manager of the Year, Christenson enters his fifth season in the Oakland organization. His coaching staff will consist of pitching coach Rick Rodriguez, hitting coach Eric Martins, athletic trainer Brad LaRosa and strength and conditioning coach Henry Torres. Rodriguez, Martins and LaRosa were members of the 2016 Sounds coaching staff.

Fort Campbell, KY – Every year, the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System hosts an Eighth-Grade Career Exploration Day to inform the students of the different career fields available for them when they graduate from high school.
This year, Soldiers of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Sustainment Brigade “Lifeliners,” 101st Abn. Div., participated in the seventh annual Eighth-Grade Career Exploration Day at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center in Clarksville, Tennessee, November 16th-17th.
