Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsGainesville, FL Strong efforts from Admiral Schofield and Jordan Bowden weren’t enough for Tennessee, as the Volunteers lost to 24th-ranked Florida, 83-70, in Gainesville on Saturday.

Schofield turned in his most complete performance of the season for Tennessee (8-7, 1-2 SEC), finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double. He was joined in double figures by Bowden, who hit three 3-pointers en route to 15 points.

TWRA says Antlerless Deer Hunting available on Private Lands Only in Unit L Counties, January 9th-13th

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Antlerless deer hunting will be allowed on all privately owned lands in Unit L counties January 9th-13th. This is the second year for the five days of hunting following the completion of the deer season on January 8th.

Privately owned lands include leased land and lands owned by individuals. It is the responsibility of hunters to obtain verbal or written permission to hunt on privately owned lands.

Josh Robinson named APSU Athlete of the Week

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Junior guard Josh Robinson, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Robinson averaged 26.5 points in contests against Western Kentucky and Belmont last week, running his streak of 20-point games to six straight—longest since 2009 (Drake Reed, January 31st-February 28th).

The St. Louis native scored 26 against the Hilltoppers and opened conference play with 27 points against Belmont.

Harley Owners groupClarksville, TN – Now that 2016 is behind us, the Tuckessee Chapter of the Harley Owner’s group, or H.O.G, is hosting it’s annual Open House, Saturday night beginning at 6:00pm.  This meeting is open to anyone who is interested in becoming a member of the Tuckessee H.O.G Chapter.

If you haven’t been involved with your local HOG chapter before, this is an excellent opportunity to meet & ride with like-minded people. American Heart Association Praises USDA for Moving Sodium Standards Forward

 

American Heart AssociationWashington, D.C. – American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown issued the following comments today on the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) memo to state agencies responsible for school meal programs.

The memo outlines the next phase of lowering sodium and sets target two for school year 2017-2018:

CARDIAC ARREST occurs when the heart malfunctions and stops beating unexpectedly. Cardiac arrest is an "ELECTRICAL" problem. A HEART ATTACK occurs when blood flow to the heart is blocked. A heart attack is a “CIRCULATION” problem. A blocked artery prevents oxygen-rich blood from reaching a section of the heart. If the blocked artery is not reopened quickly, the part of the heart normally nourished by that artery begins to die. (American Heart Association)
