Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – The Nashville Sounds extended their win streak to five games Tuesday night after clobbering the Round Rock Express 11-0. The Sounds offense launched five home runs on the night and has hit 13 over the last five games while the pitching staff recorded its first shutout of the season.

Matt Chapman, Mark Canha, Renato Nunez, and Joey Wendle each clubbed round-trippers for the Sounds (11-11). For Nunez, it was his third straight game with a home run while Chapman was not content with just recording his first long ball of the season. The Sounds third basement went deep twice for his seventh career multi-home run game.

APSU Baseball’s Alex Robles earns TSWA, adidas® OVC Player of the Week awards

APSU BaseballBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University senior right-handed pitcher and utility man Alex Robles turned in one of the rarest feats in baseball and was named the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week, Monday.

In addition, the Tennessee Sports Writers Association named Robles their Baseball Player of the Week, Tuesday.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Madison Street Lane Closure for Sewer Service Line Replacement

 

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water will close both eastbound lanes of Madison Street between South Tenth Street and South Eleventh Street at 6:00pm this evening for sewer service line replacement.

The work is expected to take most of the night to complete and may cause traffic congestion.

Clarksville Police requests help identifying Attempted Robbery Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is trying to identify the suspect in an attempted Robbery of a business at 1230 Peachers Mill Road which occurred on April 28th, 2017 around 00:31am. 

An unknown male entered the store and demanded all the money in the drawer. When the clerk could not open the drawer, the would-be robber got angry, threw items from the counter to the floor, and left the business empty handed.

APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s golf coach Sara Robson has added two signees for the upcoming season, welcoming Andrea Presilla and Reagan Greene into the fold.

A Clarksville native, Greene returns home after two seasons at Lincoln Memorial, where she was a two-time South Atlantic Conference Women’s Golf All-Tournament team honoree, including a hole-in-one at the 2017 event which earned her a spot on SportsCenter’s Top-10 Plays.

Clarksville Police arrest Michael Barron for pointing Gun during Road Rage Incident

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – A couple found out that accidentally cutting someone off on the roadway can lead to scary consequences. 

On May 1st, 2017, around 4:00pm, a 45 year old man driving south on Providence Boulevard attempted to merge into the right lane, did not see a vehicle which was already occupying the lane, and almost collided with the other vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle, Michael Barron, honked at the 45 year old driver, at which time, the 45 year old driver immediately returned to his lane of travel.  The vehicles did not make contact at all.

Clarksville Police charge Joshuah Williams with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On May 2nd, 2017, around 00:24am, Clarksville Police Officer David Moore was in the area of 205 Walnut Street and heard a loud verbal argument coming from inside of a residence.

Then, he heard the sound of an animal yelping from inside of the residence as though it was in pain. Shortly thereafter, the yelping got louder and more intense and he heard a man yelling at the animal.

AAA reports Prices at the Pump Drop for First Time in Three Weeks

 

AAATampa, FL – Gas prices have dropped slowly on the week. Today’s national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.39, a three cents drop from one week ago; however, it is an increase of nine cents over last month and 18 cents more than this time last year. One year ago, the country was experiencing higher consumer demand and prices were increasing.

Fast forward to today, consumers are still experiencing higher gas prices over last year due to the OPEC agreement, but we are not seeing substantial increases at the pump due to increased gasoline inventories and low demand across the country.
