Papillion, NE – The Omaha Storm Chasers held off the Nashville Sounds and grabbed a 4-2 win in game one of a four-game series at Werner Park Monday night.
Nashville (29-26) collected 10 hits and had the lead off man on five different times, but went 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position in a night of wasted opportunity.
Omaha got an early edge when Jorge Soler belted a solo home run to start the bottom of the second inning. Two batters later, Sounds starter Daniel Gossett surrendered another homer – a solo blast by Bubba Starling to give the Storm Chasers an early 2-0 lead.
Knoxville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has a new addition to its ‘Top 10 Most Wanted’ list: David DeWayne Evans, Jr.
Evans (DOB 8-19-85) is wanted by the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for Attempted Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felony Evading and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Felony.
Those charges stem from two separate incidents in which Evans fired shots at Claiborne County deputies after they attempted to stop the vehicle he was driving.

Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University was accorded the Institutional Sportsmanship Award by the Ohio Valley Conference at Friday’s Honors Brunch at the Doubletree Hotel.
The award goes to the conference institution selected by its peers to have best exhibited the standards of sportsmanship and ethical conduct as outlined by the OVC and NCAA.
This is Austin Peay’s second institutional sportsmanship honor; the Govs last won the award following the 2007-08 academic year. Four different teams–women’s basketball, women’s golf, outdoor track and field and softball–took the OVC’s Team Sportsmanship honor for the 2016-17 season in their respective field.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Officers are investigating a fatality vehicle accident that occured on June 4th, 2017 in the area of Franklin Street near University Avenue. The male driver, Alberdeen Townsend, was deceased at the scene. A female driver has injuries and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and has since been released
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Mr. Townsend had a brief verbal altercation with the victim while she was sitting in her Ford Fusion in Summit Heights. She drove away in an attempt to deescalate the situation.
Clarksville, TN – Flooding of some low areas caused by heavy local rains has prompted the City of Clarksville to close several parks until further notice.

APSU Department of Agriculture receives $250,000 in farm equipment from Kubota, Coleman Tractor Company
Clarksville, TN – With 440 acres of land at the Farm and Environmental Education Center, Austin Peay State University Department Agriculture faculty and students already have the land they need to gain experience in hay and forage production.
But to continue their mission of educating students on current industry practices, department faculty said they recognized the need for an upgrade in its tools of the trade.

The deceased man’s name is Alberdeen Townsend, 32 of Clarksville. The female victim is 42 years and from Clarksville. She has been released from the hospital.
Nashville, TN – The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Clarksville-Montgomery County that is in effect today, Monday, June 5th, 2017 until 4:00pm this afternoon.
Moderate to heavy showers continue to develop across Middle Tennessee. Most showers are moving quicker than overnight, but some training could occur over areas that have already received 3-5 inches of rain in the last 24 hours.
While some breaks could be possible over the next few hours, some showers will be capable of quick rain amounts of 1-2 inches over already saturated soils.
