Nashville Sounds beat Memphis Redbirds 8-7

Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsMemphis, TN – The Nashville Sounds got home runs from Jaff Decker, Beau Taylor, and Renato Nunez on the way to an 8-7 win over the Memphis Redbirds Friday night at AutoZone Park.

With the win, the Sounds took three of four games and handed the Redbirds their first series loss since late April. Prior to the four-game set against Nashville, the Redbirds had either won or split each of their last 27 series.

It was a back-and-forth contest as both teams used the long ball to light up the scoreboard. Decker helped the Sounds get out to an early lead when he started the game with a single and cruised around the bases, eventually scoring on Joey Wendle’s single to make it 1-0.

Dodging the Roadkill: Picking A Hotel

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyClarksville, TN – Traveling as much as I do, I’m constantly trying to refine how I find a hotel/motel for the night. Somewhere near the interstate or somewhere in town?

In the beginning, since I travel alone, I was content with one of the major brands, on the lower end of the rate chain.  Certainly not one of the high end facilities.  Preferably a motel where I can park the bike outside the front door.

I’ve had good luck with America’s Best, Super 8, and my favorite, Econo-Lodge.  Usually finding a rate between $55.00-$70.00.  It’s a roll of the dice really, since they’re independently owned, so you really never know.
