Montgomery County Animal Care and Control releases December 2017 Statistics

Montgomery County Animal Care and ControlMontgomery County, TN – In an effort to make the public aware of the animal problem in Montgomery County, Montgomery County Animal Care and Control has released the statistics on the intake, adoption and euthanasia for the month of December, 2017.

Montgomery County Animal Care and Control took in a total of 329 animals (1 rabbit, 2 guinea pigs, 111 cats, and 215 dogs).

On the out take side, 362 animals were processed out of the facility: 180 animals were adopted (2 Goats, 2 Guinea pigs, 3 rabbits, 70 cats and 103 dogs); 103 animals were transferred to rescue organizations (42 cats and 61 dogs); 35 animals went into foster homes (16 cats, and 19 dogs); and 44 dogs were reclaimed by their owner.

Sadly, 5 cats and 14 dogs were return adoptions and 73 animals were euthanized (43 cats and 30 dogs).

Since January 1st, we have taken in 5174 animals.

We would like to thank all those who volunteered, adopted, fostered and rescued! Look at all the lives saved! Please remember to spay and neuter!
