Snow is forecast for all of the Mid-State on Tuesday, but will taper off from the northwest. When all is said and done, expect most of the Mid-State to have around an inch of snow on the ground, although some areas will see a little more, and some a little less.

Snowfall will average around 1 inch across Middle Tennessee, with some higher amounts around 2 inches possible, especially across the northwest counties and Plateau.

Along with the snow, temperatures will plummet to the teens overnight, and will not rise much at all on Tuesday. The wind will not be terribly strong, but it will be enough to keep wind chills in the single digits late tonight through Tuesday.

Roads will become snow covered and slippery, and with cold temperatures, the snow will stick around for a couple of days.
