APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team wraps up their four-game road swing 1:00pm, Saturday, February 10th at Eastern Illinois.

The Governors balanced offense was on display against Murray State as the Govs shot 46.3 percent from the floor for the game, with three players posting double figures.

Falon Baker scored 14 points shooting 50.0 percent from three-point territory against the Racers, with Brianne Alexander scoring 10 points and pulling down four rebounds, but the Govs could not keep pace with Murray States’ potent offense.

Austin Peay (13-11, 6-7 OVC) scored 32 points in the paint and won the bench battle, outscoring the Racers 27-13 off the bench. Arielle Gonzalez-Varner posted a career high 11 points and pulled down six rebounds in her 24 minutes, coming off her 12 rebound outing against Southeast Missouri February 3rd.

The Govs are averaging 64.4 points per game and shooting 72.8 percent from the free throw line. The Governors are racking up 11.0 assists per game, with Bri Williams leading the way with 83 assists this season including seven against Murray State, Thursday.

The Governors are facing a Panther team that has struggled in conference play, with two wins on the season, both of which have come at home. Eastern Illinois is shooting 35.9 percent from the floor averaging 58.0 points per game.

Series Structure
Austin Peay is 28-18 all time against the Panthers and are going for the season sweep having won the first meeting with Eastern Illinois earlier this season December 30th, 69-59.

Double Digits
Three Govs scored in double figures against Murray State: Baker (14), Gonzalez-Varner (11) and Alexander (10).  

Struggles No More
The Governors have struggled to put together strong shooting percentages for all four periods this season, but against the Racers, Austin Peay shot 40.0 percent or above for all four quarters.

Shaking Things Up
After maintaining a four-guard starting lineup for the first 11 games of conference play, Kelen Kenol has returned to the starting lineup the last two games averaging 11.6 minutes per game in conference play.
