Tennessee State Fire Marshal Reminds Tennesseans to Use Candles with Care
Though candles might make homes feel festive, they can also cause tragedy. In 2017, Tennessee fire departments responded to 77 home structure fires that were started by candles. These fires caused two civilian fatalities, two civilian injuries, one firefighter injury and $2,447,363 in direct property damage.

Dave Kaske named new Montgomery County Animal Care and Control Director

APSU Athlete of the Month for February is Averyl UgbaAPSU Sports Information
The Silver Spring, Maryland native put up a trio of double-doubles in January, winning adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week three times and his second Player of the Week honor, January 15th. For the month, he averaged 15.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 1.5 bpg in eight games in January, hitting 53.6 percent from the floor (45-of-84) to lead the Govs to a 5-3 mark for the month.
