Clarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators stormed out to an early 2-0 lead against the Detroit Red Wings tonight, only to have to hang on for a 3-2 win on the road. The win avenges a 3-1 loss this past Saturday night in Nashville to these Red Wings.
Scott Hartnell got the Predators on the board first at 4:18 of the first period with his tip in at the net of Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard. Ryan Ellis and Roman Josi assisted on the goal.
Kyle Turris gave the Predators a 2-0 lead at 9:35 of the first period with his wrist shot, assisted by Josi and Craig Smith. Nashville looked to be off to the races with the early 2-0 lead, but Detroit would come storming back.
Nashville, TN – While candles are a popular piece of home décor, the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) wants to remind consumers that flamed candles must be used properly to avoid loss of life, injury, and significant property damage.
Though candles might make homes feel festive, they can also cause tragedy. In 2017, Tennessee fire departments responded to 77 home structure fires that were started by candles. These fires caused two civilian fatalities, two civilian injuries, one firefighter injury and $2,447,363 in direct property damage.

Clarksville, TN – Center fielder Nick Walker hit a pair of home runs but it wasn’t enough as Austin Peay State University’s baseball team dropped a 16-7 home-opening decision to Southern Illinois, Tuesday night at Raymond C. Hand Park.
On a blustery day, Austin Peay (3-1) posted its first three home runs of the season.
Montgomery County, TN – Dave Kaske has been selected as the new Montgomery County Director of Animal Care and Control. Kaske has over 26 years of diverse animal control, public safety and administrative experience that he will bring with him to Montgomery County.
Kaske most recently held a position as the Deputy Director of Winnebago County Animal Services in Rockford, IL. Prior to serving as deputy director, which he began in 2014, he served as patrol commander. Kaske also has vast public service experience working as a loss prevention manager, chief of public safety and information technology manager.

The Volunteers (19-7, 9-5 SEC) have just four games left and each one is equally as important when it comes to a top-four seeding for the SEC Tournament in two weeks. UT currently sits in second place, one game ahead of a four-way tie for third place, including the Gators. While its toughest games are out of the way, the league is as deep as it has ever been, so Tennessee will have its hands full down the final stretch to secure the valuable double-bye.
Clarksville, TN – After the media ran the photos/video of the robbery at 1361 College Street, the Clarksville Police Department received multiple tips and Police were able identify the suspect as a juvenile under the age of 18.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined the gun displayed was actually a bb gun. The juvenile is being charged with Aggravated Robbery and transported to a juvenile detention facility.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball senior forward Averyl Ugba has been named the Chick-Fil-A Austin Peay Student-Athlete of the Month for January.
The Silver Spring, Maryland native put up a trio of double-doubles in January, winning adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week three times and his second Player of the Week honor, January 15th. For the month, he averaged 15.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 1.5 bpg in eight games in January, hitting 53.6 percent from the floor (45-of-84) to lead the Govs to a 5-3 mark for the month.

Cunningham, TN – The Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their Annual Chili Supper on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 . It will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Montgomery Central Middle School.
