Nashville Predators shutout St. Louis Blues 4-0

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators won their fourth game in a row with a convincing 4-0 win over the hapless St. Louis Blues in Nashville.  Pekka Rinne marked his sixth shutout of the season with the victory.

St. Louis has now lost six in a row and is a pretty frustrated hockey club at the moment.  They’ve been shutout in back to back games.

Colton Sissons got the Predators on the board first at 4:45 of the first period with a wrister on a power play, taking a pass from Kyle Turris for the score, 1-0.

Kevin Fiala gave Nashville a 2-0 lead at 14:21 of the first period with a 2 on 1 rush with teammate Roman Josi to beat Jake Allen, in net for the Blues.  Allen made 35 saves on the day.

Scott Hartnell gave the Predators a 3-0 lead at 1:20 of the second period after teammate Calle Jarnkrok took a rebound and passed to Hartnell for the score.  The puck bounced off of Hartnell into the net.

Austin Watson gave Nashville it’s final goal of the game at 13:24 of the second period on a shorthanded breakaway goal to make it 4-0.  This was Watson’s eighth goal of the season with four of them coming against St. Louis.

The Predators have been getting balanced scoring from a number of players lately, and have been solidifying their shorthanded defense, keeping the opposition out of the net on the power play.

Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne continues his amazing play in net, stopping 27 shots today.  Rinne is 13-1-1 in his past 15 starts. Three of those wins were shutouts.

The Predators travel to Winnipeg on Tuesday.  Puck drop is 7:00pm.
