Coaching Quotables with Head Coach Rodney DeLong

On getting two all-around game performances
“We needed to win two games today and  I’m really pleased with how we played, especially pleased with how we threw the ball; both of our pitchers threw really well.”

On having other hitters step up
“That’s really where we’ve struggled (this season) we haven’t contributed, especially on the back half, but several kids had good games today. Bailey Shorter had a great day today and I was pleased with her and we need more contributions from the back-half of the lineup like we did today.”

On being aggressive on the bases
“We have that potential and we have some kids that can run. I like to play that way, I like to play a fast style.”

On build momentum
“Hopefully, we can get on a roll, continue to play like we did today and build some momentum moving forward.”
