Austin Peay State University Women’s Tennis to host Saint Louis in non-conference match

APSU Women's TennisClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team returns home for a non-conference outing against Saint Louis, 3:00pm., Tuesday.

The Govs (5-6, 2-1 OVC) are taking a break from Ohio Valley Conference action to welcome the Billikens (6-8). The match was originally scheduled for early March, but was moved due to weather.

APSU Softball splits games with Eastern Kentucky, Monday

APSU SoftballRichmond, KY – Austin Peay State University’s softball team bounced back from a Game 1 loss, Monday afternoon at Gertude Hood Field, to split its Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader with Eastern Kentucky, taking the nightcap, 5-2, after dropping the opener, 7-1.

Clarksville Police reports Man Shot on Memorial Drive passes away

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police report that the man found shot in the car at 2191 Memorial Drive died last night and the shooting is now being investigated as a Homicide.

The man has been identified as Cameron Rosario Ortiz, 20, of Clarksville. Detectives have been following up on leads thoughout the night and the investigation is ongoing.

Based on preliminary information, the shooting does not appear to be random and the public, in general, is not in danger.

APSU Men's TennisClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team looks to jump start its season by returning home to welcome Saint Louis, 3:00pm, Tuesday.

The Govs (1-15, 0-4 OVC) could gain a lot of confidence heading into the latter end of Ohio Valley Conference play with a win against the Billikens (7-7).

Clarksville Police negotiate Suicidal Man out of his room at GuestHouse Inn

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Monday, March 26th, 2018, Clarksville Police responded to a call about a man who was suicidal in a room at the GuestHouse Inn located at 3083 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

CPD successfully negotiated the the suicidal man out of the hotel room around 2:33pm.

Nashville Sounds and Vanderbilt University Medical Center extend Founding Partnership at First Tennessee Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club is pleased to announce its renewed partnership with Vanderbilt Health. The Sounds welcomed Vanderbilt as a founding partner as part of the inaugural 2015 season at First Tennessee Park and the health system continues to be a mainstay for the organization.

Over the last three seasons, Sounds players have made numerous in-season trips to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt to visit with patients and their families. Continuing a program that started in 2017, the Sounds will name two honorary players to the team in early April. The two players are patients picked by Children’s Hospital. The honorary players will be part of the team for the entire 2018 season, joining the Sounds during batting practice and taking the field during select home games.

Clarksville Police are on scene of Suicidal Man at GuestHouse Inn on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Officers are on the scene of a suicidal man, possibly armed. Police received a call about a man who threatened to harm himself and located him at the GuestHouse Inn at 3083 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

Police were able to confirm his threat of harming himself. A safety area around the room has been established and crisis negotiators and tactical unit are on scene.

Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt to be hosted by Yellow Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, March 31st

 

Yellow Creek Baptist ChurchCumberland City, TN – Yellow Creek Baptist Church will hold their annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31st, 2018. Registration starts at 9:00am and the Easter Egg hunt begins just after 10:00am.

There will be 20,000 eggs filled with candy scattered between the three fields. The Easter Egg hunt will be divided into three divisions: Pre-K, K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade.

“We would love to have everyone come out with your family for the hunt.” said Brother Phillip Chambers, Senior Pastor. “It’s a lot of fun in a safe environment.”

Tennessee Gas Prices are Highest of the Year according to AAA

 

AAANashville, TN Tennessee motorists will soon find some of the most expensive gas prices in five months. Tennessee’s state average of $2.41 is tied with this year’s high – set in February – and the highest price since October. 

“Gasoline demand has been very strong the past few weeks, as Americans travel for spring break,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group.

Crude oil prices are the highest they've been since January 26th.
