Nashville Sounds’ first homestand begins Tuesday at First Tennessee Park

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club returns to First Tennessee Park for Opening Day and the first homestand of the 2018 season on Tuesday, April 10th.

The fourth season at First Tennessee Park begins with the Sounds welcoming the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, the Iowa Cubs, for a three-game series from April 10th-12th, and the Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, the Omaha Storm Chasers, for a four-game set from April 13th-16th.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early with the new enhanced safety procedures in place. The increased security screening includes the use of metal detectors at all entrance gates.

Tuesday, April 10th

Nashville Sounds vs. Iowa |  6:35pm

  • Gates open at 5:00pm
  • Magnet Schedule Giveaway to the first 4,000 fans presented by FOX 17 News.
  • Cumberland Hospitality and Germantown Depot present singer Sean Rivers in a pre-game performance from 5:05pm to 6:00pm on the Brauer Lounge Deck.
  • American Idol finalist and Belmont University graduate Melinda Doolittle will sing the national anthem.
  • Unveiling of a fourth Country Legends Racer to join Reba, Johnny Cash and George Jones in the famous fifth inning Country Legends Race presented by First Tennessee.
  • After the game, fans will be treated to the first post-game fireworks show of the 2018 season.

Wednesday, April 11th

Nashville Sounds vs. Iowa |  6:35pm

  • Gates open at 5:00pm
  • Wear It Wednesday Franklin Barreto T-Shirt Giveaway to the first 2,000 fans presented by Middle Tennessee Hyundai Dealers.
  • Vanderbilt University Night – Faculty, staff, students and alumni can enjoy discounted tickets – advance purchase required.

Thursday, April 12th

Nashville Sounds vs. Iowa |  6:35pm

  • Gates open at 5:00pm
  • Throwback Thursday presented by Budweiser – the Sounds will wear throwback uniforms to commemorate the team’s original uniform style from 1978. Fans can purchase Pepsi fountain soda and Budweiser products at a discounted rate.
  • Summer Tour T-Shirt Giveaway to the first 2,000 fans presented by Ashley HomeStore.
  • Special guest chef Andy Little at The Band Box.

Friday, April 13th

Nashville Sounds vs. Omaha |  6:35pm

  • Gates open at 5:00pm
  • Faith and Family Worship Night presented by Trevecca University – Join the Sounds for a night of worship and baseball with player testimony. Stars Go Dim perform a pre-game concert near the Family Fun Zone.
  • FOX 17 News post-game fireworks presented by Koorsen Fire & Security.

Saturday, April 14th

Nashville Sounds vs. Omaha | 6:35pm

  • Gates open at 5:00pm
  • Enjoy Saturday at the Park with visits to The Band Box and our Family Fun Zone in the right field corner.

Sunday, April 15th

Nashville Sounds vs. Omaha |  2:05pm

  • Gates open at 12:30pm
  • Join Lululemon Nashville, Small World Yoga and Nashville Fit Magazine for Yoga on the Diamond at First Tennessee Park. Registration begins at 8:30am with yoga from 9:00am to 10:00am.  A ticket covers both yoga and Sunday’s game against Omaha – advance purchase required.
  • Youth Sports Day – Discounted group tickets with a pre-game parade on the field – advance purchase required.
  • Hyundai pre-game autograph session with select Sounds players from 1:00pm to 1:15pm. 
  • Military Sunday Family Fun Day – The Sounds extend their military appreciation by wearing special military jerseys on the field and offering discounted reserved section tickets for active and veteran men, women and families – subject to availability.
  • Post-Game Kids Run the Bases (12 & under) presented by First Tennessee.

Monday, April 16th

Nashville Sounds vs. Omaha – 12:05pm

  • Gates open at 10:30am.
  • Kroger Plus Monday – Buy a “Family 4-Pack” that includes 4 Select section tickets, 4 hot dogs & 4 fountain sodas for $44 when fans show their Kroger Plus card at the Sounds Ticket Office.
  • The Sounds wear their black “Music City” jerseys to represent Nashville’s rich musical heritage.

Seniors and Military families can enjoy a $2.00 discount on single game ticket prices at First Tennessee Park. The offer is valid for any reserved seat section on Sunday through Wednesday games – subject to availability. Offer valid for up to four (4) tickets per I.D. (Seniors 55 +, government issued military I.D. required at box office; no phone orders).

The 2018 season is the Sounds’ 41st in franchise history and fourth as the Oakland Athletics’ top affiliate. Opening Day at First Tennessee Park is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10 when the Sounds host the Iowa Cubs at 6:35pm.
