APSU Spring Commencement keynote speaker will be Valerie Hunter-Kelly

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Valerie Hunter-Kelly, co-owner of Keller Williams Realty-Clarksville and a nationally recognized real estate professional, will deliver the keynote address at Austin Peay State University’s Spring Commencement on May 4th, 2018 in the APSU Dunn Center.

Hunter-Kelly has more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, and she is the listing specialist for The Air Assault Team at Keller Williams.

In 1999, she was selected as one of the Top 500 Most Powerful Women in Real Estate, and she has appeared three times on the Wall Street Journal’s annual listing of the country’s Top 1,000 Realtors. In 2014, the Wall Street Journal and Real Trends named her one of the Top 400 Real Estate Professionals in the U.S.

Hunter-Kelly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Hampton University and a Master of Science degree in microbiology from Oregon State University. She is an active member of the Clarksville-Montgomery County community, having served on the board of directors of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA, the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation, the Association of the U.S. Army (Fort Campbell Chapter), the Customs House Museum Ladies Auxiliary, the Clarksville United Way, Tennova Healthcare and the Tennessee Housing Development Agency.

Hunter-Kelly will speak at all three commencement ceremonies, at 8:00am, noon and 4:00pm, on May 4th, 2018 in the Dunn Center.

The 8:00am ceremony will include students who are earning degrees from the College of Arts and Letters and the Martha Dickerson Eriksson College of Education. The noon ceremony will include students from the College of Business and the College of STEM. The 4:00pm ceremony will include students from the College of Behavioral and Health Sciences and the University’s ROTC cadets.

Students in the College of Graduate Studies will participate in the ceremony associated with their program’s academic college. All ceremonies will be in the Dunn Center, which will open one hour prior to each ceremony for graduates and guests.

Two shuttles will run from 7:00am to 7:00pm on the day of commencement. The shuttle will pick-up and drop off guests at the Dunn Center, the corner of Marion Street and Henry Street, Pettus Park and Lot 4 on Farris Street and Drane Street.

APSU offers a free live webcast of each commencement ceremony. A link to the webcast will be made available within 24 hours of each ceremony. The ceremonies also will be broadcast live on Magic 91.9 WAPX-FM, a broadcast service of the APSU Department of Communication.
