52nd Hopkinsville Community College Commencement to be held May 4th, 2018

Hopkinsville Community CollegeHopkinsville, KY – Hopkinsville Community College’s 52nd Commencement Ceremony will take place at 7:00pm on Friday evening, May 4th, 2018 at the James E. Bruce Conference and Convention Center located at 303 Conference Center Drive in Hopkinsville Kentucky.

The ceremony will be streamed live online. A link to the webcast can be found on HCC’s website homepage, www.hopkinsville.kctcs.edu, under announcements and on the college’s social media pages on the day of the event.

According to HCC Registrar Tiffanie Witt, 768 students have applied for 1,198 credentials – 502 two-year degrees, 653 certificates, and 43 diplomas.

“This is the best time of our academic year. It’s the time for us to celebrate student success. During Friday’s ceremony we will be cheering on all our students as they cross the stage,” stated HCC President Dr. Alissa Young. “We will honor several academic award winners along with the announcement of HCC’s Spirit Cup winner. In addition, there will be several firsts that we are excited to share. We have six students graduating from our first KYFame cohort, which focuses on industrial maintenance, and five students who are receiving credentials from our new medical assisting program.”

The class of 2018 will also include 42 graduates from the Rotary Scholars program, which provides funds for any student who graduates from a public or private high school in Christian County to attend HCC tuition free. This partnership between HCC and the Hopkinsville Rotary Club began with the 2012 graduating class.

This year’s commencement speaker will be Mrs. Eva Self who is a nationally recognized, inspirational speaker and adult education instructor at HCC.
