Fort Campbell Soldier Juwan Richardson dies in boating accident at Kentucky Lake

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A Soldier with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) was pronounced deceased May 14th, 2018. He was previously missing after a May 11th boating accident at Kentucky Lake in Golden Pond, Kentucky.

Pfc. Juwan Richardson, 20, of Gordon, Alabama, was a petroleum supply specialist in 2nd Brigade Combat Team, “Strike”. He joined the Army in 2016 and arrived at Fort Campbell in 2017. Decorations include National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Air Assault Badge.

“Pfc. Richardson was a dedicated and hard-working member of the Strike Brigade,” said Lt. Col. Matthew Adamczyk, Richardson’s battalion commander in 2BCT. “He was an integral member of the team, respected and loved by all his fellow Soldiers. His infectious positive attitude and tireless work ethic will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

The cause of the accident is under investigation
