Tennessee Bureau of Investigation also issues Blue Alert for Steven Joshua Wiggins
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has added Steven Joshua Wiggins to their TBI Top 10 Most Wanted list. The TBI has also issued a statewide Tennessee Blue Alert for Wiggins.
Wiggins is wanted by the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in the shooting death of a Dickson County deputy on May 30th, 2018. Wiggins should be considered armed and dangerous.
According to the TBI, the deputy was responding to a report about a “suspicious vehicle” in the area of Sam Vineyard Road around 7:00am.
After being unable to contact the deputy, officers located his patrol car from it’s GPS system about two or three miles away. The deputy was found dead inside his patrol car.
A Blue Alert was issued for Wiggins around 10:30am, Wednesday.
According to the TBI, the alert is similar to an AMBER Alert, but is used in cases in which a law enforcement officer has been killed or seriously injured in the line-of-duty. A $7,500 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
Wiggins is also wanted by the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for Aggravated Assault and Theft of Property over $1,000.
Those charges stem from an incident that happened Tuesday evening in the 100 block of Luyben Hills Road in Kingston Springs.
