Anderton and Rockensuess anchored an offensive line that helped pave the way for the nation’s sixth-ranked rushing attack that produced 3,105 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns, both program records. They were also stalwarts in the passing game, as the unit as whole allowed only 10 sacks all season. Both Anderton and Rockensuess earned second-team All-OVC honors in 2017.

Oatsvall secured the starting quarterback job halfway through the 2017 campaign, and played well enough to earn OVC Freshman of the Year and second-team All-OVC recognition. He completed 80 of 141 passes for 1,148 yards and seven touchdowns, while adding 453 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. He set a school record with 8.1 yards per pass attempt, and finished with a 135.8 pass efficiency rating for the season, the second-best mark in Austin Peay history.

Scholato led the Govs in total tackles for the second-consecutive season with 99 total stops. He earned first-team All-OVC recognition, marking the first time a Gov linebacker made the first team since Daniel Becker in 2009. He led the team with 12 stops behind the line of scrimmage, and recorded double-digit tackles on three occasions, including a season-high 12 against UT Martin.

Williams turned himself into a dominant force off the edge, as he recorded 9.5 sacks, a mark that ranks third all-time at Austin Peay. He also led the team with 13 quarterback hurries, four forced fumbles, and finished second on the squad with 11.5 tackles for loss. The Associated Press named him second-team All-America, while he earned third-team All-America recognition from STATS. He was named HERO Sports FCS First-Team All-Sophomore, and named a finalist for the STATS FCS Buck Buchanan Award. On Sunday, the College Football America 2018 Yearbook listed Williams on its FCS Starting Lineup.

The Govs will open the 2018 season against the reigning SEC Champion Georgia on Saturday, September 1st at 2:30pm in Athens.
