Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Veterans Upward Bound is throwing several free pizza parties this month in an effort to show as many military veterans as possible the program’s benefits.
The first open house is 11:00am-2:00pm August 2nd, 2018 at Room 203 of the McReynolds Building.
Open houses also are planned during the same times on August 8th, 15th, 23rd and 30th.
Veterans Upward Bound is a free U.S. Department of Education program designed to help eligible military veterans enter and succeed in college.
APSU’s program provides free services and materials to help veterans prepare for college, such as pre-college testing, admissions help, financial aid assistance and tutoring. APSU unveiled its new offices this spring.
Veterans Upward Bound is for veterans who aren’t enrolled in college and haven’t earned a four-year degree. They can be new or returning to college. Prospective students also must meet low-income criteria or have parents who didn’t attain a four-year degree.
