The Govs will face up to 12 teams in the Chargers Open at the Sharon Johnston Park, the official park for the NCAA DII South Regional in 2014.

Sophomore Thomas Porter looks to build off his career-best time of 16:32.58 last week at the Saluki Invitational. Hezron Kiptoo and Wesley Gray will try to close the gap between themselves and Porter.

Juniors Nash Young and Tyler Smith are eager to build upon their top 25 performances last Saturday.

Daniel Davis will aim to beat the 17 minute barrier, while Joseph Redman and Andrew Abel look to form a pack.

Head Coach Doug Molnar understands his veteran-led team let last week’s race get away from them early.

“Our guys are going to have to pick it up a little early at the beginning of the race,” Molnar said.

Molnar is confident in his team, and believes this will be key and could separate the Govs from the rest of the pack.
