The Rhodes Invitational will have 24 schools in attendance with various Divisions I and II, such as Memphis, Christian Brothers, and host Rhodes. For the second time this season, the Govs will run an eight-kilometer course in this race.

This is the first time since 2016 that the Govs will participate in Rhodes’ home meet. The Governors placed fifth out of 17 teams that participated that day, with current Austin Peay senior Hezron Kiptoo leading the way for the Govs at 17th overall with a time of 26:21.25.

Heading into Saturday, senior Wesley Gray looks to lead the way for the Govs for the second straight meet. Kiptoo and sophomore Thomas Porter look to capture another top-25 finish for the second week in a row, while Daniel Davis, Tyler Smith and Nash Young are intent on getting another top-50 finish this upcoming Saturday.

The key for the Govs success this Saturday is the understanding of knowing how to be aggressive while still having stamina left in the tank.

“[Last week] we got out good early with four guys in the top 10 at the mile mark, but we couldn’t hold it,” said head coach Doug Molnar.
