Glencoe, AL – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s golf junior Meghann Stamps remained near the top of the leaderboard, while senior Reagan Greene joined her in the top-10 on Day Two of the 2018 Chris Banister Classic at Silver Lakes Golf Club.
Overall, little changed atop the team leaderboard on the second day of competition. The Govs (313-312—625) remained in third, behind Jacksonville State (603) and Murray State (607), with Tennessee Tech (638) lurking.
Stamps remains the lead Gov, following up her opening-round 73 with a team-best 75 in round two; she’s tied for third at 148 and remains Austin Peay’s leader in birdies (five), par-4 scoring (4.10/hole) and par-5 scoring (5.00/hole) and took the lead in pars with 23 after 36 holes.
Greene made a strong move into the top-10 with a second-round 77, giving her a 156 (79-77) through 36 holes. The big mover of the day was freshman Taylor Dedmen, who fought back after an opening-round 82 to post a 77 of her own, moving into 14th place.
Senior Taylor Goodley and freshman Shelby Darnell rounded out the day for the Governor lineup. Goodley sits just inside the top-20 at 19th (79-84—163), with Darnell just outside (82-83—165; 24th) despite an outstanding 2.88 stroke average on par-3 holes. Sophomore Andrea Presilla is at 180 (87-93) as the individual.
Final-round action begins 7:30 a.m. (CT), Tuesday, where the Govs will be once again paired with Tennessee Tech off Hole No. 1.
