Nashville Predators defeat Winnipeg Jets 3-0

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN -The Nashville Predators unloaded on the Winnipeg Jets tonight at Bridgestone Arena, 3-0.  Winnipeg eliminated Nashville in round two of the Stanley Cup playoffs last year, and the Predators were looking for some payback. 

Ryan Hartman, Roman Josi and Ryan Johansen provided the scoring for the Predators, but Winnipeg came unglued, handing Nashville 9 power plays on the night.  Nashville never scored a power play goal.

Tennessee Higher Education Commission reports College Enrollment Increases for the Third Consecutive Year

Tennessee Higher Education CommissionNashville, TN – The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) released college enrollment data for the fall 2018 semester, indicating that 221,775 students across the state enrolled in community colleges and public universities for the 2018-2019 academic year.

This marks the third consecutive year that postsecondary enrollment has grown across the state, and an increase of 1,656 additional students compared to fall 2017.

APSU Volleyball on the road to face Belmont, Tennessee State

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – After sweeping its four-match homestand, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) volleyball team will make a quick trip around Music City for a pair of Ohio Valley Conference contests.

The Govs will first face Belmont in a 6:00pm, Friday, October 12th match before heading across town for a 2:00pm, Saturday, October 13th affair at Tennessee State.

Clarksville Police report same vehicle stolen twice from Staff Orton Automotive

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police are trying to identify a man who stole a black, 2004 Chevrolet SK1, TN Tag BGR106, pickup from the lot of Staff Orton Automotive on October 7th, 2018, 1144 College Street.

As you can see from the video surveillance, a man exited another vehicle, entered the pickup and drove off. The same pickup had been stolen from the same lot about a month ago and was later recovered and returned to Staff Orton.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police report that on Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 around 8:00pm, a 53 year old man driving a Ford F350 pickup was stopped for a redlight in the southbound lane of US 79N near Cracker Barrel Drive when, for an unknown reason, a 65 year old woman driving a Chevy Cavalier, traveling southbound, collided into the rear-end of the stationary Ford F350.

APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s soccer team faces the top two teams in the Ohio Valley Conference this weekend in Murray State (home, 7:00pm, Friday, October 12th) and UT Martin (away, 2:00pm, Sunday, October 14th), as the Govs try and cement a place in the OVC Tournament.

The Govs (8-5-1, 3-3-1 OVC) host the Racers (8-3-1, 4-2 OVC) in a pivotal match in the OVC standings, with heavy implications in play.

American Red Cross Blood drive to be held in Charlotte to honor of Emily Grace Rodgers
