Maisie Lay [1] looks to continue her stellar first year as a Governor and break the 19-minute barrier mark in the regular season finale. Senior Caroline Kiplagat [2] strives to make her senior campaign a year to remember as she runs in her final regular season race as a Governor.

The Govs will be without Mikaela Smith [3], who is off representing the U.S. Virgin Islands this week at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires. Sophomores Alura Endres [4] and Keleah Shell [5] aim to get out early and keep up with the top Governor runners as they compete for another good finish.

Freshman duo Larin Harr [6] and Maddie Morstad [7] look to record personal-bests heading into the conference meet, while the remaining Govs intend on making a statement to propel the Governors into a successful weekend.

“For us, this is go time,” stated head coach Doug Molnar [8]. “We have our most important meets coming up so it is vital that we are taking care of all the little things. Details matter.

“We have a tougher [road] as Evansville is on a three meet winning streak. But we will be aggressive and try to break up their front group.”

The Governors are facing the host school, University of Evansville, for the third time this season this Saturday. This course is the host location for the 2016 U-18 National Championship (with over 2500 competitors), the 2015 MVC Championships, the 2017 NCAA Division II Championships, and will also be the location of the 2021 NCAA Division I Great Lakes Cross Country Regional.
