Senior Wesley Gray has been the front runner for the Governors majority of the season and intends on continuing his mark as his senior year will be coming to a close. Hezron Kiptoo seems to counter his season best at the Greater Louisville Classic and cut his time closer to the 26 minute mark.

Sophomore Thomas Porter is determined to compete with the top two runners and record another stellar performance.

Junior Tyler Smith aims to break the 27 minute barrier and secure another season best finish. Nash Young will strive to make another season best finish and fight with Smith to break the 27 minute barrier. The remaining Govs will attempt to make their marks in the regular season finale at Evansville.

“We need to make sure we are going to the training room, eating good, and getting enough sleep. Those things matter,” said head coach Doug Molnar as his team heads into the end of the season. As for this weekend Coach Molnar stated, “We have beaten Evansville by razor thin margins, on a neutral course by two and our home course by one, so it’s become a bit of a rivalry.” “We will need to run smart as they are on their home course.

The Governors will be headed to Evansville, Indiana to duel it out against the host school for the third time this season. This course is the host location for the 2016 U-18 National Championship (with over 2500 competitors), the 2015 MVC Championships, the 2017 NCAA Division II Championships, and will also be the location of the 2021 NCAA Division I Great Lakes Cross Country Regional.
