Overall, the Govs pounded out 33 total hits in the nine-inning contest versus the Lady Saints, including five doubles (two by Kelsey Gross) and three home runs (Danielle Liermann, Brett Jackson, Drew Dudley) in scoring its 31 runs.

Eleven different Governors authored multi-hit efforts in the victory, led by Natalie Schilling and Lexi Osowski who both finished the contest with four hits each.

Osowski would also drive in six runs to lead APSU, while Liermann, Dudley, Gross, Carly Mattson, Katie Keen, Emily Moore, and Kacy Acree all recorded multi-RBI performances.

In the circle, the Govs only allowed two base hits in the nine-inning combined shutout, with Morgan Rackel getting the start and throwing three no-hit innings of work, while striking out six, followed by Gross’ four innings of one-hit relief – striking out five – and Kelly Mardones coming in for the final two innings and giving up a lone hit and striking out three.

While the contest versus Shawnee concludes Austin Peay’s fall schedule of inter-collegiate contests, Govs fans can also come out and watch the team play in its Governors World Series this Tuesday through Thursday at Maynard Stadium-Cheryl Holt Field.
