Nashville Predators defeat Edmonton Oilers 3-0

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators just continue to win.  Whether it be at home or on the road, the Preds are off to a great start.

Tonight, they finish their first “back-to-back” series with the victory over the Edmonton Oilers 3-0.

This comes on the heels of their 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames the night before where the Predators were able to extract a bit of revenge for their home opener against these Flames, where Calgary was able to shutout the Predators.

Beating Calgary was the objective, but the concern of Predators fans was the injury to Pekka Rinne, suffered during the Flames contest.  Rinne was laid out flat after a collision with teammate Kevin Fiala and was helped off the ice.  He’s been placed on injured reserve.

Meanwhile Juuse Saros entered the game and closed the door on Calgary for the victory.

Fast forward to tonight, where Saros pitched a shutout on the Oilers and their high flying Connor Mcdavid, for the shutout.

P.K. Subban got the Predators started at 13:14 of the second period with a wrist shot that beat Cam Talbot of the Oilers for the 1-0 score.

Viktor Arvidsson would make it 2-0 at 14:42 of the second period with a shot from the high post.  Arvidsson was assisted on the play by Nick Bonino and Mattias Ekholm.

Roman Josi would  ass the final tally at 19:07 with an empty netter for the final score.

Things are looking good for the Predators right out of the gate, with the San Jose Sharks on tap as their next opponent in Nashville.  Puck drop at 7:00pm.

Nashville is now 7-1 to start this early season and leading the Central Division with +12 points, two points up on the Colorado Avalanche.
