APSU Men's TennisLouisville, KY – Austin Peay State University (APSU)  men’s tennis team could not come away with any hardware, but still had an impressive showing as the Govs concluded play at the Louisville Invitational, Sunday, October 21st, 2018 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The Govs had two players play for main draw championships. Almantas Ozelis and Anton Damberg played for the Flight A Doubles Championship, but fell narrowly.

Ozelis then had his Flight A Singles Championship, but fell to a strong opponent in Louisville’s Christopher Kougoucheff, who has been nationally ranked in the past. Ozelis fell in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.

Two Govs win singles matches on Sunday, however. Chad Woodham won the consolation portion of the Flight D Singles competition due to retirement, even though he won the first set and led in the second. Jacob Lorino also won a match in the “Red Draw”, as he looked to build on his good showing last weekend.

The Govs conclude their fall slate next weekend in Chattanooga at the Steve Baras Fall Tourney.
