Clarksville Police Department promotes Four Officers

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Clarksville Police Chief Al Ansley promoted four officers Friday, October 26th, 2018 during a packed room at Police Headquarters.

Officer Stephen Hurt, hired in 2013, was promoted to Sergeant and previously held the position of Field Training Officer. He will be a shift supervisor on District 3 dayshift.

Clarksville Police report Rasheem Lewis indicted for Murder for Death of Julian Torres

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police reports Rasheem Demar Lewis, age 27, was indicted by the October 2018 Grand Jury for First Degree Murder in conjunction with the death of Julian Torres. His bond was set at $500,000.

The warrant was served yesterday, without incident, in Nashville Tennessee.

He was booked into the Montgomery County jail around 9:15pm, on Thursday, October 25th, 2018.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – In 1975, shortly after Bill Gates and Paul Allen formed Microsoft, a young Austin Peay State University (APSU) math professor decided to teach a computer class.

He didn’t know what the Microsoft duo was doing out in New Mexico, but the ’70s marked a sort of golden age in the young computer world, with the development of the first microprocessor, the floppy disk and the video game “Pong.”
