Saturday’s meet will mark the 58th time the OVC men’s championship has been contested and will be hosted in Southeast Missouri for the first time since 2008. The men’s 8k race will begin at 10:00am.

The Governors look for their first top-five finish in the conference meet since 2010 and are peaking at the right time. Senior Wesley Gray has led the Governors in four races this season, while sophomore Thomas Porter finished top-two for the Govs in every race this season.

Senior Hezron Kiptoo will wrap up his senior year and cap off a great year after consistently running in the top-three for the Govs; Kiptoo has cut down his time in every race this season.

Other highlights of the Governors’ lineup consist of veterans such as junior Tyler Smith, who has cut his time in every race this season, sophomore Daniel Davis, and Andrew Abel. Nash Young and Joseph Redman with their pack running style will not be far from the main pack as the Governors will go to Missouri with no fear in their hearts in the season’s crowning event.
