Nashville Predators shut out at home by Arizona Coyotes 3-0

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators couldn’t break through Arizona’s 6’6 goalie, Adin Hill tonight as the Coyotes blanked the Predators 3-0.  Injuries forced Hill into the net with tonight being his first start.  Hill made 29 saves on the night.  

The injury plagued Predators had plenty of opportunities to light the lamp, but couldn’t break through tonight and dropped their second game in a row.  They welcome the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night.

The two teams went back and forth during the first period, but ended the frame scoreless.

Clayton Keller put the Coyotes on the board first at 1:40 of the second period, with his wrist shot the beat Pekka Rinne for the early 1-0 lead.  Keller was assisted on the play by Nick Schmaltz and Alex Galchenyuk.

Then at 19:39 of the second period, Nick Schmaltz got the unassisted goal for the 2-0 Arizona lead.  The power play goal was a result of a penalty on the Preds, leaving them shorthanded.

Nashville hit the ice in the third period with some extra pep in their step hoping to climb back into this one, but at 11:23 of the final frame, Brad Richardson put the game out of reach for the final score of 3-0.

Nashville has been without the services of P.K Subban, Viktor Arvidsson and Kyle Turris, three of their mainstays in the lineup, but they haven’t been without their scoring chances.

Pekka Rinne made 22 saves on the night and not only is their second loss in a row, but their third of the last four.
