UT Lady VolsKnoxville TN – No. 9/9 Tennessee (7-0) and No. 12/12 Texas (7-1) renew their rivalry in Austin on Sunday, as these storied programs meet for the 40th time during the 40-year run of a series that began on December 8th, 1978, on a campus with an original footprint of land known as the “Forty Acres.” Tip-off is slated for 12:02 Central (1:02 ET), with the game available on ESPN2 and the Lady Vol Radio Network.

UT head coach Holly Warlick, then a junior, started at point guard for the Lady Vols in that first UT/UT match-up, leading her squad to an 84-60 victory over the Longhorns in Columbia, MO, at the Midwestern Classic Tournament.

Tennessee Department of Veterans Services says Remains of Hawkins County Soldier Killed in World War II Identified

Tennessee Department of Veterans ServicesNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Department of Veterans Services Commissioner Many-Bears Grinder recognize the service and sacrifice of U.S. Army Private First Class Lewis Price of Rogersville, who was reported missing as of November 6th, 1944 during World War II. 

The Hawkins County native was assigned to Company E, 2nd Battalion, 109th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division during weeks of combat in the Hurtgen Forest in Germany.  Price was 23-years old when he went missing.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Renovation Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to be held Tuesday, December 11th

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – Phase 1 of a major renovation of portions of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library have been completed. Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett will preside at a ribbon-cutting to officially open the renovation for use at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 11th, 2018.

The public is invited to this ribbon cutting and to tour the renovated areas and also to see a demonstration of the new book check-in and sorting machine.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Phase 1 Renovation has been completed and a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 11th.

101st Airborne Division to hold Final Ceremony at Gander Memorial before Re-Location

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Media members and the public are invited to the Fort Campbell Gander Memorial annual remembrance ceremony, December 12th, 2018 at Fort Campbell. This will be the final ceremony at the memorial’s current site before it is moved to a new location on the installation.

The site, consisting of a monument and 256 Canadian Sugar Maple trees, was built as a living memorial to the 248 Soldiers and eight crew members who lost their lives when Arrow Air Flight 1285 crashed in Gander, Newfoundland shortly after takeoff on the morning of December 12th, 1985.

Clarksville Police request Public Help identifying Vehicle Burglary Suspects

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department says the trend continues and vehicle burglars continue to walk through neighborhoods looking for unlocked vehicles to enter and steal items.

The video surveillance captured multiple suspects walking around Henry Place Boulevard looking for unlocked vehicles. They found one and took approximately $300.00 from the vehicle.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) reports that in Montgomery County there will be concrete repair on I-24 at MM 0.2 the weekend of December 7th, 2018.

The traffic will be shifted at the Welcome Center for concrete ramp and pavement repairs. The right lane on I-24 eastbound will be closed until the concrete is placed. Work will take approximately 12 hours, timing will depend on weather.
