Funds are being raised for building renovations at the new location, which will serve as the future home of Precious Friends Puppy Rescue, a non-profit organization that has been rescuing puppies in the Clarksville community since 1992.

The sale will be held Friday December 14th from 8:00am-4:00pm, Saturday December 15th from 8:00am-4:00pm, and Sunday December 16th from 11:00am-3:00pm at the Barker Street location.

Donations of items in clean, good working condition are being collected through Monday, December 10th daily from 11:00am-3:00pm. To schedule a different drop off time, donors are encouraged to email humanesociety@clarksville.com and not leave items unattended outside of the building.

Precious Friends is undergoing reorganization after receiving news that long-time funding from North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) would terminate at the end of this year in addition to notice of a rent increase.

When Humane Society Executive Director Amy Shaver heard that Precious Friends was in trouble, she reached out to fellow animal lovers to see if a core group could be formed to save the organization. A new leadership board was formed and are working alongside Precious Friends Director, Ariane Duckett, to continue the legacy started 26 years ago.

As part of the reorganization effort, Precious Friends plans to greatly increase local adoptions that will expand to include the rescue and adoption of kittens in addition to puppies.

A Sneak-Peek VIP Sale will be held on Thursday, December 13th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Tickets are available in advance for just $10.00 each at www.clarksvillehumanesociety.org/events

Financial contributions towards building renovations can be made at that link, too. VIP ticket holders will be entered in a drawing to win a $50.00 gift card to Petsmart, and VIP night will also include silent auction, refreshments, and a tour showing off future shelter plans.
