Clarksville, TN – On Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 around 11:30am, a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 39 year old male was traveling west on Ashland City Road (41-A bypass). A GMC Envoy driven by a 25 year old female was traveling south on East Old Ashland City Road.
As the driver of the Envoy was approaching the stop sign at the intersection of East Ashland City Road and Ashland City Road, she applied the brakes to stop but, the brakes failed, causing the Envoy to run through the stop sign and collide with the rear quarter panel of the Silverado.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has closed the outer eastbound lane of Madison Street between Liberty Parkway and Crossland Avenue for natural gas line maintenance.
Madison Street is passable; however, traffic may become congested near the work zone.

Knoxville, TN – No. 10/10 Tennessee (11-1) heads out on the road to open SEC play on Thursday night, paying a visit to an Auburn team that is 12-1 and undefeated in six home games this season. Tip-off is slated for 6:02pm CT (7:02pm ET) at Auburn Arena, with the game available on SECN+ and the Lady Vol Radio Network.
The Lady Vols, who closed out a four-game home stand with an 84-76 victory over Belmont on Sunday afternoon, are 2-0 in true road games and 4-0 away from Knoxville this season, including a pair of neutral site victories. Tennessee won at Oklahoma State and No. 12/12 Texas and defeated Clemson and UAB at the Junkanoo Jam in Bimini, Bahamas, earlier this season.

This year, massive wildfires scorched more than 8.5 million acres—in California alone, residents have suffered back-to-back years of the most destructive wildfires in state history, with the Camp Fire being the most severe.
Clarksville, TN – As the calendar changes over from 2018 to 2019 this week it also brings the beginning of basketball’s second season for the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Governors, as the men’s and women’s teams begin the Ohio Valley Conference part of their schedules.
The Govs will host Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State at the Dunn Center on January 3rd and 5th to open conference play with both teams needing to get off to a quick start with a four-game road swing following the opening weekend of OVC play.
