Nashville Predators fall to the Detroit Red Wings in OT 4-3

Nashville PredatorsDetroit, MI – The Nashville Predators lost the first game of a six game road trip tonight to the Detroit Red Wings, 4-3 in overtime.

Detroit played a very aggressive game tonight while the Predators put on a lazy performance, leaning on their All-Star goaltender Pekka Rinne for most of the night.

The Red Wings dominated the first ten minutes of the game while Nashville had no shots on goal, but because of Rinne, they remained in the contest.  Oddly enough, it was Nashville that took the early lead in tonight’s contest.

Dodging the Roadkill: Roadkill Nation

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyClarksville, TN – When I started this blog, it was for personal reasons.  I had just discovered this lifestyle and I was enthralled with it.

I was meeting a lot of amazing new friends, traveling thousands of miles, and just setting my life free from all the stress and anxiety of running a business for the last 20 years.

I wanted to keep a journal of this experience, because not only was riding great therapy, but writing about it allowed me to bring it to life.

It’s not that I was looking for attention or trying to be an internet star, I was just hoping to connect with other bikers and soak up their experience as well as mine and that’s exactly what’s been happening here.

NASA’s New Horizons Spacecraft takes detailed photos of Ultima Thule

NASA Marshall Space Flight Center

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationHuntsville, AL – Scientists from NASA’s New Horizons mission released the first detailed images of the most distant object ever explored — the Kuiper Belt object nicknamed Ultima Thule. Its remarkable appearance, unlike anything we’ve seen before, illuminates the processes that built the planets four and a half billion years ago.

“This flyby is a historic achievement,” said New Horizons Principal Investigator Alan Stern of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado. “Never before has any spacecraft team tracked down such a small body at such high speed so far away in the abyss of space. New Horizons has set a new bar for state-of-the-art spacecraft navigation.”

This image taken by the Long-Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) is the most detailed of Ultima Thule returned so far by the New Horizons spacecraft. It was taken at 5:01 Universal Time on January 1, 2019, just 30 minutes before closest approach from a range of 18,000 miles (28,000 kilometers), with an original scale of 459 feet (140 meters) per pixel.
