Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is launching a new smartphone app, “TWRA on the Go,” with enhanced features to make it easier to hunt, fish, boat, and enjoy wildlife.
“We are always looking for ways to make it more convenient for those who enjoy the outdoors,” said Michael May, TWRA Assistant Director. “The new app makes it easy to go paperless and report your deer or turkey harvest with or without cell service.”

Athens, GA – Sophomore point guard Evina Westbrook poured in 10 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a third-quarter Tennessee Lady Vols shooting slump and Georgia’s second-half rally as UT fell at Stegeman Coliseum, 66-62.
There were five ties and 10 lead changes in the contest.
Westbrook led Tennessee (12-4, 1-3 SEC) in scoring with a game-high 23 points, logging her eighth 20+ point performance of the season. Rennia Davis had six points and 12 rebounds, while Cheridene Green also added six points and 10 rebounds.
Clarksville Gas and Water Department

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has planned an area-wide water outage on Monday night, January 14th at 9:00pm on Rainbow Street and the surrounding area in the Dogwood Hills Subdivision, Olympic Village Subdivision and Ford Street Subdivision for water valve replacement work.
The following roads will be included in the water outage or may be affected by low water pressure during the work.
Raleigh, NC – The Nashville Predators fell to the Carolina Hurricanes this afternoon behind 21 year old Sebastian Aho’s hat trick, 6-3.
The 21 year old took center stage while an old nemesis in net, Petr Mrazek, stonewalled the Predators for the win. Mrazek has beaten the Predators 7 times dating back to his days with the Detroit Red WIngs.
Aho put the ‘Canes on the board at 15:44 of the first period when he took the puck in the neutral zone and beat Pekka Rinne through the five-hole for the early 1-0 lead.
Clarksville Civil War Roundtable
Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Tennova Heathcare. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public.
Tennessee Department of Human Services
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is taking steps today to alert SNAP recipients of a very important deadline imposed by the USDA. Individuals who are renewing their benefits or filing a 6 month Simplified Report form need to have any required paperwork in by the end of business Monday, January 14th.
Meeting this deadline is an important step to ensure February benefits are available to those who qualify during the government shutdown.
APSU Sports Information
Birmingham, AL – Austin Peay State University (APSU) track and field got its first look at the site of the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships at Saturday’s Vulcan Invite, where a number of Govs found the new accommodations to their liking.
As a group, Austin Peay enjoyed 14 top-10 finishes, with another pole vault win highlighting a strong weekend for head coach Doug Molnar‘s crew.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation has partnered with the Roxy Regional Theatre to give aspiring and professional filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their talents on the big screen as part of the Clarksville Film Festival scheduled for February 15th-17th.
Knoxville, TN – No. 13/13 Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball (12-3, 1-2 SEC) faces back-to-back road games in a five-day span, beginning with a Sunday matinee at Georgia (11-5, 2-1 SEC) on Jan. 13th. Tip-off is slated for 2:02pmCT at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, with the game being carried by ESPN, the Lady Vol Radio Network and SiriusXM.
This marks the 68th meeting between these programs in a series that ranks behind only UT-Vanderbilt (80 games) for most times played by Big Orange women’s hoops. The Lady Vols will try to respond in positive fashion from back-to-back home losses to Missouri (66-64) and #16/16 Kentucky (73-71).
