Clarksville, TN – Construction on the Red River Trail East – Phase I section of the Cumberland Riverwalk will begin next week.
Construction vehicles will enter and exit on the east side of 868 Kraft Street (Action Air of Clarksville) beginning February 4th and continuing through August 2nd.
“We want to caution the public that a roadway work area with signage, traffic barrels and or flagman will be present throughout the life of the project,” said David Smith, City Project Manager. “With your help and careful attention while traveling through this area, we anticipate a safe project with only minor traffic delays.”
The new Riverwalk extension will begin at the existing walkway on the southern bank of the Red River under the U.S. Highway 41-A (Providence Boulevard) Red River bridge and continue east along the river for eight-tenths of a mile.
The walkway extension project includes a parking lot and a driveway connection to Kraft Street, which is approximately two-tenths of a mile east of the Kraft Street, North Second Street and Riverside Drive intersections.
Drivers are reminded to observe all posted speed limits and any flagman’s traffic directions during this construction period.
