Brentwood, TN – After a dominating week of play, Claudia Yanes Garcia, of Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s tennis team, was named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Tennis Player of the Week.
Yanes Garcia went 4-0 across doubles and singles matches last week, as the Governors rolled over Cumberland and Central Arkansas to improve to 6-0 to start the season.
Knoxville, TN – Fueled by five double-figure scorers, No. 1 Tennessee Vols continued its winning ways Wednesday night, defeating the South Carolina Gamecocks, 85-73, in Thompson-Boling Arena.
The victory marked the ninth time in Southeastern Conference that play the Vols (23-1, 11-0 SEC) have won by double digits and the second time they have done so against South Carolina (12-12, 7-4 SEC).
National Player of the Year candidate Admiral Schofield led the way with a game-high 21-point performance while grabbing a team-high 10 boards for his fourth double-double of the season.
Blanchfield, Fort Campbell officials examine response for victims for Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence

Fort Campbell, KY – Officials from Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell and the local community held a Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Summit February 6th to 8th to examine processes and protocols used when responding to reports of sexual assault and domestic violence.
“Domestic violence and sexual assault are still happening and there is absolutely no room for it,” said Brig. Gen. Todd Royar, deputy commanding general for support, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), to more than 100 summit participants, which included first responders, medical personnel, victim advocates, military and civil law enforcement officials, social workers and counselors, staff judge advocates and civic officials from surrounding communities.

Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) would like to congratulate Law Enforcement Explorers Post 600 on their recent achievements.
The Explorers earned two awards during their Annual Winterfest Conference and Competition. They placed third in Active Shooter Response and third in Bomb Threat Response.
They also recently held a promotion and graduation ceremony for five members of the program.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has closed a section of Commerce Street to through traffic from Hiter Street to Childers Street to repair a water main leak.
Motorists will be redirected to Hiter Street and Childers Street during the work.
The water main repair is anticipated to be finished and the road reopened by approximately 6:00pm.
