No Gov advanced further than senior Savannah Amato, whose 4.10m pole vault not only won the event and moved her back to the top of the league but also put her into a tie for 43rd based on marks entering the weekend and kept alive her hopes of an NCAA Indoor qualifying mark after getting her some solid attempts at 4.32m.

Classmate Dascha Hix also posted a 3.95m mark to take runner-up honors and had many solid efforts at the 4.10m mark.

Freshman Tiyanna Johnson’s 7.22 mark in the 55m dash was both a personal-best and the winning time in the event. In short hurdles, Denia Hill-Tate and Nia Gibbs-Francis both qualified for the finals, with Gibbs-Francis’ 9.61 was a personal-best that helped her take runner-up in the event.

Hill-Tate was a DNF for the hurdle finals but did post an indoor-best 11.56m shot put toss in preparation for a pentathlon attempt at next week’s OVC Indoor Championships.
