101st Airborne Division
Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers assigned to the 101st Airborne Division will continue to return here through February, following a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.
More than 500 Soldiers with “Task Force Destiny,” 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, and “Task Force Lifeliners,” 101st Sustainment Brigade, will return in four welcome home ceremonies, scheduled to occur February 21st and February 28th, 2019.
During their deployment, the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade provided aviation support to U.S., coalition and Afghan forces throughout the Combined Joint Operations Area-Afghanistan.

Task Force Destiny exceeded 50,000 flight hours, transporting more than seven million pounds of cargo and 91,000 passengers, and conducting 1,700 security missions and 256 air assault operations. Additionally, five Soldiers received the Distinguished Flying Cross for their heroism and valor.
These are the first homecoming ceremonies of 2019 for the 101st Sustainment Brigade, who while deployed served as the 101st Resolute Support Sustainment Brigade. The 101st Resolute Support Sustainment Brigade provided logistical support to U.S., coalition and Afghan forces throughout the Combined Joint Operations Area-Afghanistan.
Additionally, they oversaw the modernization of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle fleet across the CJOA-A.
