Clarksville Transit System - CTSClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System (CTS) recently placed four new bus shelters.

“I’ve heard passengers request more bus shelters,” said Arthur Bing Sr., City of Clarksville transportation director. “We at CTS are working hard to get more bus shelters installed around the city as quickly as possible.”

The Clarksville Transit System placed four new bus shelters around the Tiny Town Road area this month. The shelters include a bench, solar powered LED lights, a trash receptacle and space for wheelchair access.

Shelters have been built at Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and Old Trenton Road by the Verge Apartments, Tiny Town Road and Sandpiper Road by Woody’s Pizza, Tiny Town Road and Needmore Road by Goodwill, and on Tiny Town Road by the Speedway Gas Station.

“The shelters are low maintenance, made of durable material with a bench, solar powered LED lights, a trash receptacle and space for a wheelchair,” Bing said. “Some of the shelters also have ad panels that businesses can use to advertise their business.”

Bing said the revenue generated by advertising can be used to buy more shelters.

“Bus shelters provide both safety and protection from the elements. The more we install throughout the City, the better,” Bing said.
