APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s golf has one spring round under its belt; now, the Govs get their first full-fledged tournament underway Monday at the Spring Break Shootout, a joint venture hosted by Western Kentucky and Florida Gulf Coast in Dade City, Florida.

Lake Jovita Golf Club will host the event, playing out at par-71 over 6,056 yards.

Belmont will join Austin Peay as Ohio Valley Conference representatives for this event, with Arkansas State, UALR, Ball State, Troy, ULM, Jacksonville, Samford, Oakland, Ohio, Southern Illinois and Illinois State joining the Hilltoppers and Eagles to complete a solid field.

All eight Govs will be in competition this week, with just six short weeks remaining until OVC Tournament competition. Freshman Taylor Dedmen, whose hometown of Plant City is just 40 minutes south, will slot in as the No. 1 for the week; she looks to build on a fall slate which featured three top-10 finishes.

A pair of seniors will anchor the middle of the lineup in Taylor Goodley and Reagan Greene. Goodley has been a notoriously strong starter in spring tournament openers, finishing no worse than second among Govs in all three of her previous seasons with an average finish of 24th. Greene, meanwhile, won her last tournament and looks to bring that same momentum into the spring.

Junior Meghann Stamps and freshman Shelby Darnell will round out the lineup for head coach Amy McCollum, with a trio of players—Ashton Goodley, Riley Cooper and Andrea Presilla—set to compete as individuals. Cooper makes her spring debut after missing most of the fall due to injury.

Round one kicks off 7:30pm (CT), Monday, with the Govs paired alongside Southern Illinois and ULM and teeing off on Holes No. 10-12. Live scoring will be provided at BirdieFire.com; periodic updates can be found via Twitter (@AustinPeayWGO).
