Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis team has added a home match against Martin Methodist, 1:00pm, Friday, March 15th.
The Governors (3-10) added the match as a final tune-up before Ohio Valley Conference play gets underway in less than two weeks.

The Govs took on Butler in their most recent outing, falling in their first home outdoor match of the season, despite a decent performance.
Chad Woodham and Jacob Lorino won at No. 3 doubles, but the Bulldogs prevailed at No. 1 doubles and fended off APSU at No. 2 doubles, 7-5, to go up 1-0.
Anton Damberg and Christian Edison each forced their opponents into third-set supertiebreaks, but fell agonizingly as the Bulldogs won the match.
About the Martin Methodist Redhawks
The Redhawks (1-7) have not the best start to their season either, but have played four teams either ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Poll.
Their most recent outing came against Cumberland, where they lost a 6-3 decision. The Govs defeated Cumberland 6-1 earlier this season. The Redhawks also took on fellow OVC member Belmont, losing 4-1, earlier in the year.
The match is the first meeting between the two schools since the 2003-04 season. The Govs blanked the Redhawks, 7-0, in that contest.
