Clarksville Police charge Cheri Green for Hit and Run that Wiped Out Three Motorcycles

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police say through the public and media’s assistance they were able identify and locate the PT Cruiser and hit and run driver responsible for damage to three motorcycles on a parking lot on Kraft Street

The investigation into the hit and run crash lead to Cheri Chukwu Green, 31 being identified as the driver of the PT Cruiser.

Based on information provided to the investigator, Green had left a lounge on College Street after having a drink.

She was driving on Kraft Street, rounded a curve, traffic had slowed/stopped causing her to brake quickly, ran off the roadway into gravel, over corrected to avoid a collision with the vehicles, went into the parking lot and struck the motorcycles.

She left the scene after the crowd became hostile, causing her to feel unsafe. She headed home and failed to call 911.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle after receiving a tip. The temporary used on the PT Cruiser did not belong to the vehicle which has been unregistered since October 2018. When officers located the vehicle off of Jack Miller Boulevard, March 11th, the temp tag had already been removed.

Cheri Chukwu Green was cited for: Driver To Exercise Due Care, Failure To Provide Immediate Notice Of Accident, Leaving The Scene Of An Accident With Damage, No Proof Of Insurance, and Registration Required Before Operation.

The lead investigator is Officer Van Beber.

Once again, Clarksville Police can not thank the media and public enough for their assistance.
