Historic Collinsville
Clarksville, TN – Historic Collinsville opens for the 2019 season on Saturday, April 20th with its annual Spring Homecoming. This year, the pioneer settlement is also hosting an Easter Extravaganza with egg hunts and prizes for ages 1-12.
Events scheduled for opening Saturday include tours of the property’s historic buildings with docents telling stories, egg hunts, food trucks, lawn games, and an inflatable bouncy house.
The gates will open at 10:00am to kick off the Spring Homecoming, and Easter Egg Hunts will begin at 11:00am. Each age group’s egg hunt will feature a golden egg prize including items like an Xbox, Bicycle, Big Wheel or Wagon.
Admission is free for children ages 12 and under, and is $12.00 for ages 13 and over. Cash and debit/credit cards are accepted. The event will continue until 4:00pm.
Age categories for egg hunts and their time slots are:
- Ages 1-3 start at 11:00am.
- Ages 4-6 start at 11:30pm.
- Ages 7-9 start at Noon.
- Ages 10-12 start at 12:30pm.

Southside Summer Nights, a new bluegrass and country music series, will take place on the grounds in June, July and August. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a quilt for a 6:30pm start time. Bring a picnic or enjoy our food trucks and lawn games. No outside drinks will be allowed. Concerts will conclude at 8:30pm.
Performers include Back Lot Pickers on June 28th, Queen City Committee on July 26th, and BAM on August 23rd. Admission is $12.00 for ages 13 and up. Tickets will be available on Eventbrite through historiccollinsville.com
Playing on June 28th is local father-son duo Back Lot Pickers, featuring local father-son duo Donald and Lucian Greene. They have been playing at local events and venues since 2012.
Queen City Committee, playing July 26th, is made up of six members that hail from California to Clarksville. Group members have toured with Hootie and the Blowfish and opened for Johnny Paycheck, Asleep at the Wheel and New Riders of the Purple Sage. They play classic rock from the 60s and 70s, Motown and Country.
During the 2019 regular season beginning April 26th, Historic Collinsville is open on Saturdays from 10:00am–5:00pm and Sundays from 1:00pm–5:00pm. Regular admission is free for ages six and under and $7.00 for ages seven and up. The property is open other days and times for groups of six or more for reservations, rentals, weddings, or special events.

About Historic Collinsville Pioneer Settlement
Set on 40 rolling rural acres, the Historic Collinsville Pioneer Settlement opened in 1974 to give children a “hands-on” experience, outside of the classroom, about life in the 1800s. It’s been open to the public since 1997, recreating the past with historical structures each filled with authentic period furnishings that show a glimpse of life before and after the Civil War.
In 2018, Collinsville founders, Glenn and JoAnn Weakley sold the property to Montgomery County Government, and Visit Clarksville operates and manages the property.
Historic Collinsville is located at 4711 Weakley Road in Southside, TN, 15 miles south of Clarksville.
