Queen City Road Race registration deadline nears

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – It’s time to lace up those running shoes and begin preparing for Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s 41st Queen City Road Race, a City of Clarksville tradition that promotes health and fitness for people of all ages.

Registrants can choose to participate in either the one-mile event at 8:30am or the 5K beginning at 8:45amon Saturday, April 27th, one week earlier than previous year’s races.

This year’s 5K route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, and the one-mile route takes participants on a tour of the Austin Peay State University campus. Both events begin at APSU’s Foy Center and conclude inside Fortera Stadium.

In-person registration is from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday-Friday at the Clarksville Parks ad Recreation Office, 102 Public Square, Downtown Clarksville. Register before April 15th to receive the “early bird” rate of $20.00 for the 5K. After April 15th, registration will be available, but the 5K fee will increase to $25.00. Cost for the one-mile event is $5.00.

Each year, hundreds of Clarksville-Montgomery County School System elementary school students, teachers, and family members participate in the race.

Incentives and awards are offered to CMCSS elementary schools as follows:

  • $500.00 to school with the highest percentage of student registration.
  • $500.00 to school with the highest percentage of faculty registration.
  • $100.00 for the physical education department of the first school to have 10 people cross the 5K finish line.

The 41st Queen City Road Race is presented by the City of Clarksville and co-sponsored by Austin Peay State University, the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, Clarksville- Montgomery County School System Coordinated School Health, NorthCrest Medical Center, and Clarksville Living Magazine.
